This statement released by the Women’s Bureau of the Canadian Labour Congress marks December 6th as the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. On the 3rd anniversary of the Montreal Massacre, the CLC raises the issue of the alarming rate of sexual assault and violence against women in Canada and notes the need to organize and work for change. The CLC Action Plan passed at the last convention includes various forms of education, political action, workplace action, and community work to end violence against women in Canada.
