This is an undated final report of a Canadian Labour Congress Women’s Conference. It looks at the issues explored by delegates, including women’s role in society, policies of right-wing governments, the impact of privatization and deregulation on women’s jobs, family responsibilities, and sexual harassment. It also highlights needed steps, such as organizing courses and political action committees; pressing for the inclusion of demands for parental and maternity leave, equal pay, daycare, and affirmative action programs as well as building a stronger role for women within the union movement.
