Region:

The 1982 Convention Statement on affirmative action and women called on the OFL to hold a series of forums across Ontario seek support for legislated affirmative action. The Campaign on Women and Affirmative Action brought together women’s and community groups, unions, and teacher organizations in a planning committee. The forums themselves raised awareness of the magnitude of discrimination against women in the workforce. This brief represents the findings of the hearings and submissions and offers recommendations for legislation on affirmative action and equal pay for work of equal value.
