Tightwire
offered a platform for artistic expression for incarcerated women in Canada’s only female federal penitentiary. It also informed readers of current proposals in law reform. Included in the format were short stories, poems, artwork, quotes, puzzles, and jokes. Tightwire was published four times a year. The Kingston Prison for Women closed in 2000.

The P4W Memorial Collective is a group of women ex-prisoners from the Prison for Women (P4W) who are working towards the creation of a permanent memorial garden and community space on the grounds of P4W, in Katarokwi/Kingston, Ontario.  Their website offers more on the history of P4W.
