This 1982 OFL Convention Statement Action calls for mandatory affirmative action designed to remove barriers to equality for women in the workplace, overcome past and present discrimination, and improve the economic status of women. Political action by the labour movement is needed to win legislation and develop training and education. The labour movement must also look at changes to its own structures.
