This OFL Convention Statement identifies the crisis in day care as more women enter the work force and calls for free, universally-accessible, publicly funded, quality childcare as an essential social right of every family wanting to use the service. The document proposes that a campaign to achieve this be undertaken as a major priority of the labour movement.
