The theme of Toronto’s 1988 International Women’s Day March and Rally was Women Unite to Fight Racism, Sexism and Economic Inequality. The inside pages of this broadsheet look at the issues of employment equity, violence against women and children, lesbian sexuality, reproductive choice, imperialism and struggles of native people, and women fighting around the world. There is also a list of other events marking International Women’s Day.
Rise Up! believes that learning about social movements from original historical materials is an important public good. We believe that these materials should be accessible to the public for research or education and, of course, for discussion and review.
