The 1985 Feminist Periodicals Conference was hosted in Montreal from June 14-16, it followed similar conferences in 1974, 1975, and 1980. Representatives from 35 feminist publications attended the conference in order to network, attend workshops related to the development of their periodicals, and strategize for the future of feminist publishing. This press release outlines some of the takeaways from the conference including the resolve to stand against attacks on the women’s movement, broaden their base among women of visible minorities, and research the possibility of a national organization and staff person.
