The Birth Control Handbook was first published in Montreal in 1968 as an initiative of the McGill Students’ Society. This is the 4th edition (revised), published in August 1970 after the 1969 Omnibus Bill was passed legalizing birth control and decriminalizing abortion. This edition addresses the limitations of this legislation as part of its continued editorial commentary on the politics of women’s sexuality and reproductive rights.
