Written in 1982, this statement from the Women’s Action for Peace calls on women to express their discontent at the nuclear threat and militaristic society. It includes events such as the Alliance for Non-Violent Action Film Series, the “Refuse the Cruise” demonstration, and actions at Litton industries. The Statement of Unity argues women are controlled in male power structures and asks women to come together and withdraw support for the hierarchical, militaristic, social order.
