The Day Care Kit was written and produced by the Day Care Research Group, a research group of Action Day Care. The paper was written to use as a basis for discussion at the Second National Child Care Conference in Canada. It provided a statistical background demonstrating the shortcomings of the present situation, compared the Canadian system to other jurisdictions around the world, and provided a strong argument for demanding additional funds to support the growth of a quality child care system in Canada.
