This CACSW pamphlet examines the changing role of women in society and the need for updated laws covering paid maternity/family leave. It challenges traditional assumptions about the role of women, childbirth, and pregnancy, and looks at where Canada stands compared to other countries, and addresses the issue of cost. The pamphlet also offers recommendations for modifying current legislation.
