This three-page UAW-in-Canada brief presented to the Ontario Federation of Labour’s Child Care Forum in Toronto argues for affordable, universal, accessible childcare. While calling for government childcare as the optimum, the union says that negotiating employer-provided childcare not only gives working parents the childcare they desperately need, it puts pressure on government as employers lobby for relief from having to pay for employees’ childcare.
