The first Lesbian Binational Conference was organized by the Lesbian Organization of Toronto (LOOT) in May 1979 as an opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas, share culture, form a common direction, and establish a communication network. This conference programme provides an overview of the wide range of workshops, cultural events, and social activities offered by organizers. There is also a brief history of LOOT itself.
Rise Up! believes that learning about social movements from original historical materials is an important public good. We believe that these materials should be accessible to the public for research or education and, of course, for discussion and review.
