This pamphlet by NAC describes the devastating cuts to the Women’s budget which was by $1.6 million, including 100% cuts to the funding of women’s centres. Of this, approximately $1.4 million has been cut from women’s centres – one quarter of these cuts were in Quebec, where 40 centres lost funding. The pamphlet goes on to describe the inadequacies of government action on women’s issues and recommends a course of action to lobby the federal government.
