This is a brief from the National Action Committee on the Status of Women (NAC) to the government of Ontario’s Discussion Paper on Employment Equity Legislation. NAC analyzed the records of the Bank of Nova Scotia, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, and Air Canada on federal employment equity reports. They found that there were minuscule improvements in the employment for women. The brief goes over why women need employment equity, goals, and emphasizes that there are barriers other than employment equity. It includes an appendix with data from the three employers.
