An emergency session of 60 women at the 1972 Strategy for Change conference drafted this statement about the need to extend the scope of recommendations from the conference beyond the Status of Women Report so they addressed the system itself and not only women’s status within the system. The statement also calls for a recognition that all levels of action are necessary, including direct action such as boycotts, strikes, and demonstrations.
