This button was part of the Toronto District Council of the Canadian Union of Public Employees campaign against privatization of public services. This campaign concerned women as many of these services involved women both as workers and as people who were receiving these services. Keeping them public would mean a greater possibility of maintaining wages and benefits as well as the quality of the services.
