Women Against Violence Against Women (WAVAW) was a feminist organization active especially in Toronto and Vancouver. In Toronto, it led the 1978 protest against Snuff, a pornographic movie that bragged that it featured the murder of a woman as a sexual spectacle. WAVAW was also an important force in initiating Take Back the Night marches.
