They discuss organizing the first women’s first film festival in Montreal, feminist movements in Quebec in the 1970s, lesbian separatism, lesbian sex and sexual identities, eroticism and humour, and the Unknown Host’s experience with bisexuality. Gay Day was an annual 24 hour broadcast event held by CKUT Radio (which hosted the Dykes on Mykes broadcast), from 1989 to 1991. The broadcasting event was held to honour LGBTQ+ and AIDS activist Joe Rose, who was murdered in a homophobic hate-motivated attack in Montreal’s Gay Village in 1989.
