More about A Woman’s Place (Halifax)

A Woman’s Place–Forrest House was a women’s centre and organization in Halifax, Nova Scotia, established in 1977 and operating into the 1980s. It brought together both “women committed to preserving a historic house and women committed to developing a resource and activity centre for women. The vision of what the centre would be was not done in isolation, but rather in consultation with many community groups and individual women”

(A Woman’s Place Newsletter April 1978).

Woman’s Place also operated as a venue for feminist organizing.
