$4.50, Not a living wage

This button was created during the 1987 nation-wide strike by the Canadian Union of Postal workers (CUPW). Key issues were job security, privatization efforts, and changes to working conditions. Special health and safety provisions for pregnant workers were won by CUPW during these negotiations. The button features a black and white photo of postal workers, holding signs reading “Postal Workers on Strike CUPW”. Black bolded text superimposed on the photo reads, “$4.50, Not a living wage”
