This white button has the slogan “Be Wise – Help Us Organize R.W.D.S.U Local ~ 414” in red block lettering. It was made in 1988 in support of the unionization drive by Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU) Area Local 414. This effort was one of a number of similar attempts during this period to unionize workers in the retail and service sectors where the workforce was predominantly female.
