Dick Martin, and Nancy Riche to lead the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC).  In the previous election in 1986, Shirley Carr had become the first woman President of the CLC after serving on the Executive Board since 1974. Nancy Riche was also elected as an Executive Vice President in 1986 and was assigned to the Women’s Department which she oversaw for the next 16 years. Riche was later elected Secretary Treasurer of the CLC.
