This 1987 button calling for “Childcare Now” was created by the Ontario Coalition for Better Daycare. In 1986, the Conservative government led by Brian Mulroney shelved the report of the Task Force on Childcare, also known as the Katie Cooke report, which called for the creation of a national system of  childcare.
