This button is from Doris Anderson’s unsuccessful campaign as the Liberal candidate during the 1978 House of Commons by-election for the Toronto riding of Eglinton.  Anderson was a well-known advocate for women’s equality and for her work as editor of Chatelaine magazine, Chair of the Canadian Advisory Council on the Status of Women (CACSW), and President of the National Action Committee on the Status of Women (NAC).
