Fairy godmothers against Mike Harris

This undated button with the slogan ‘Fairy godmothers against Mike Harris’ was created in Ontario by women who came together to protest against Mike Harris. During his time as Premier of Ontario from 1990 to 2002, Harris introduced tremendous budget cuts to social assistance and housing, which increased poverty amongst women and children. He also did not increase government funding for welfare organizations or community-based services set up specifically to serve vulnerable women or female victims fleeing domestic abuse or other forms of violence.
