Fleck: It’s Everyone’s Fight! This 1978 button with the slogan ‘Fleck: It’s Everyone’s Fight!’ was created by Organized Working Women (OWW) during a strike involving 80 low-waged women workers at a small auto wiring plant near London, Ontario. The workers faced fierce resistance by management in their fight to win a first contract after being organized by the United Auto Workers (UAW). The strike challenged the labour movement to address the issues of women workers. The solidarity provided by feminist groups such as OWW and the International Women’s Day Committee helped create a strong bond between organized labour and the women’s movement.
