It focuses on the economic hardship experienced by women in Saskatchewan in the 1980s. Part 1 of the documentary provides an overview on women and the economy, discussing the wage gap, welfare, and unemployment. Part 2 of the documentary examines work and childcare, single-parent families, job security, unionization, and collective bargaining. The final part of the documentary touches on the lives of older women, discussing pension and inadequate social services, as well as the financial hardships of widows.
