This bilingual 1978 handbook, “Alternatives to Hysteria: A Guide for Sudbury Women in Crisis”, was created by a collective of Sudbury-based women called Women Helping Women. The resource, developed in response to a 1977 survey, is dedicated to sharing information about topics related to women’s emotional, physical, financial, and psychological safety and well-being. Topics include birth control, abortion, pregnancy and childbirth, adoption, venereal disease, childcare, financial crisis, marriage and divorce, mental illness, domestic violence, and more.
