Childcare – Government action is needed

This 1987 document by the National Action Committee (NAC) Child Care Sub-Committee is a call to the government to make comprehensive changes to the childcare system in Canada. The document critiques for-profit childcare centres and proposes a universally accessible, publicly funded, non-profit childcare system instead. This document provides a critique by the Canadian Labour Congress on the current child care system and the National Democratic Party’s recommendations to improve it.
