Cross Canada Conference for Abortion Law Repeal

This February 1973 letter, authored by members of the Canadian Women’s Coalition to Repeal the Abortion Laws, calls on women to build the second Cross-Canada Conference for Abortion Law Repeal taking place from March 16-18, 1973, in Toronto. Pointing to the victory of the Roe v Wade decision in the United States, the organizers see the Conference as an opportunity to launch a new offensive against the existing restrictive abortion laws in Canada. The Canadian Women’s Coalition to Repeal the Abortion Laws was a precursor to the Canadian Association to Repeal the Abortions Laws (CARAL)
