Let Us Speak! Steps to Change Language Training – 1989

This kit was prepared by Alma Estable and Mechthild Meyer in 1989 for the Equity in Language Training Project, an Ontario-based initiative aimed at improving official language education for immigrant women in Canada. The kit debunks myths about immigrant women and language learning, makes policy recommendations, and offers suggestions to individuals on how to help decrease barriers to official language education in Canada. The project was the joint effort of many organizations including the National Organization of Immigrant and Visible Minority Women, the Congress of Black Women of Canada, the Chinese-Canadian National Council Women’s Issues Committee, and more.
