Human Rights: Refugee Rights

This presentation was prepared by Judith Ramirez, Co-Chairperson of the Immigrant and Refugee Board (IRB) Working Group on Women Refugee Claimants, and delivered on December 8, 1994, at an International Human Rights Day event in Toronto. Ramirez speaks to the current debate in the media on refugee rights, Canada’s leadership role on women’s human rights, and female genital mutilation as a form of gender-based persecution.
