Immigrant Women’s Health Centre: Abortion and Immigrant Women This 1977 statement by the Immigrant Women’s Health Centre explains that IWHC will not be signing onto the May 28 Coalition for Abortion Rights because the slogan “right to choose” ignores the experiences of Third World, Black, and Native Women whose right to choose to have children has been eroded by genocidal birth control practices and the denial of services. The statement makes several demands of the Canadian Government, and calls out racism within the May 28 Coalition.
