The Organization of Social Services & Its Implications for the Mental Health of Immigrant Women

This 1979 study was prepared by Ana Bodnar and Marilee Reimer for the Secretary of State with research carried out through the Working Women Community Centre. It examines the inadequacies and inaccessibility of social and health care services to immigrant women. The study argues that immigrant women’s concerns and circumstances are dismissed as being a product of the individual and her culture, while ignoring the structural issues underlying these women’s health issues.
