International Women’s Day Toronto (1987) Pamphlet Toronto’s International Women’s Day 1987, organized by the March 8th Coalition, aimed to bring the fight against racism and the fight against sexism together. Building a new women’s movement required integrating an anti-racist perspective into feminist organizing. Demands were focused on four themes: Native women’s support of Indian self-determination; choice, affirmative action, and housing.
