Sharing the Caring: Ontario Federation of Labour Discussion Paper on Day Care

The Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) Women’s Committee prepared this discussion paper for a conference on day care held in October 1980. The paper looks at the inadequacy of the current child care system and how the lack of universal child care is inextricably linked to women’s inequality, both in the workforce and in society. The paper calls for comprehensive changes to the system with a series of detailed recommendations.
