Making Up the Difference: Ontario Women Speak Out – OFL Brief to Government of Ontario

This 1984 brief to the Government of Ontario, “Making Up the Difference”, represents the findings of a province-wide series of public hearings held by the Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) to raise awareness and seek support for legislated affirmative action. The series were part of a campaign on women and affirmative Action organized by a coalition of women’s and community groups, unions, and teacher organizations. The brief offers a series of recommendations for legislation on affirmative action, equal pay for work of equal value, and childcare, among other issues.
