Women on the Global Assembly Line (1985) This 1985 booklet was prepared by the Participatory Research Group—a collective of educators, researchers, and activists—on the role of women from underdeveloped countries in the microtechnology revolution. The booklet details the growth of microtechnology and how cheaper consumer costs have been made possible by an exploitation of labour and a disregard for worker rights by corporations operating in the global South. In the final section, the booklet outlines resources and strategies for change, including stories of women who have successfully organized for better working conditions.
