Women Working with Immigrant Women: Speech to Immigrant Women Conference This speech was made by Maria Teresa Larrain on behalf of Women Working with Immigrant Women (WWIW) to the Immigrant Women Conference in Toronto in March 1981. It addresses the exploitation of working class immigrant women (primarily in the manufacturing and service industries) as workers, women, and immigrants simultaneously–from low wages and poor working conditions, to linguistic discrimination and the double shift of domestic labour.
