For Every Woman Raped in Every War: Banner

This is a photo of the banner “For Every Woman Raped in Every War” which was produced by the Political Action Collective of the Ottawa Women’s Centre and used in an action with the poem of the same name on November 11, 1979, at the War Memorial on Wellington street, Ottawa. The banner was sewn by a number of women who dropped in and picked up a threaded needle. The Political Action Collective was renamed the Feminist Action Collective in 1981.
