Mama Quilla II (Album Cover and Lyrics)

Mama Quilla II was a groundbreaking feminist rock band that first began playing together in 1977. Members were Lorraine Segato, Linda Robitaille, Susan Sturman, Jacqui Snedker, Lauri Conger, and Billy Bryans.

In 1982, the band released their first and only self-titled EP, Mama Quilla II, which featured three powerful tracks: “Angry Young Woman,” “KKK,” and “Mama Quilla.” Several members of Mama Quilla II would go on to form The Parachute Club, a band that continued the legacy of blending pop, world beat, and socially conscious lyrics.
