Formed in 1982, the Toronto-based group was known for its unique fusion of pop, worldbeat rhythms, and socially conscious lyrics. The Parachute Club included several members from the earlier feminist band Mama Quilla II.

This album included the hit single “Rise Up,” an anthem for social justice and equality that became a defining track of the era. “Rise Up” went on to win a Juno Award for Single of the Year in 1984.
