Conference in Solidarity with Women of South Africa and Namibia

The Conference in Solidarity with Women of South African and Namibia was held on November 16 and 17, 1984, in Toronto. As the organizers wrote, “participants send greetings to the SWAPO (South West Africa People’s Organisation) Women’s Council in this the ANC (African National Congress) declared YEAR OF WOMEN. We wish to struggle against the apartheid regime which illegally occupies your country. We pledge to do our utmost in the coming period and look forward to the day when we can celebrate the creation of an independent Namibia. Amandla!”
