Rise Up! Feminist Digital Archive
A Digital Archive of Feminist Activism
The Indochinese Women’s Conferences took place in April 1971 in Vancouver (April 1-6) and Toronto (April 9-11). Feminist activists from Canada and the United States met with Indochinese women – including freedom fighters from Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia – to strategically collaborate on how to persuade the US Government to end the Vietnam War.
Hundreds of women from various backgrounds attended both conferences, which coincided with peace talks in Paris between North Vietnam and the United States. Canadian Voice of Women for Peace and the Vancouver Women’s Caucus were two of the many groups involved in organizing the conference.
