The “Women’s March Against Poverty was a cross-country action organized by the Canadian Labour Congress and the National Action Committee on the Status of Women in May-June 1996. The theme was “For Bread and Roses – For Jobs and Justice”, directly inspired by the “Bread and Roses” march organized by the Fédération des femmes du Québec (FFQ) in 1995.
