The British Columbia Federation of Women (BCFW), founded in 1974, was “an umbrella organization providing a network of support for women’s groups in the province. Its purpose was to bring about the liberation of women through fundamental change in society. The intent of the Federation was not only to mobilize women around specific issues but also to provide a network of full support for women’s diverse struggles.” The group also published the British Columbia Federation of Women Newsletter.
