A Digital Archive of Feminist Activism
The Working Women’s Alliance of London was formed in 1975 under the impetus of the Women in the Workforce Conference held in May of that year. The Alliance was “dedicated to participating in the struggle to achieve greater freedom and opportunity for women,” specifically by organizing unorganized women, cultivating research skills, and providing counselling services and educational programs. Members worked within their respective union locals to address women’s issues within existing trade unions.
