The Feminist News Service (FNS) started in December 1974 and a became national organization with offices across Canada, except for the Atlantic provinces and the territories. FNS was completely run and owned by Canadian women and carried only information written by Canadian women. Its first issue was published in June 1975. The goal was to act as a link between women’s groups and newspapers across Canada.
